Differential Pressure (DP) transmitters measure the difference between two pressures. They use a reference point called the low-side pressure and compare it to the high-side pressure. Ports in the instrument are marked high-side and low-side. The DP reading can be either negative or positive depending on whether the low-side or high-side is the larger value. A DP transmitter can be used as a gauge pressure transmitter if the low-side is left open to the atmosphere.

YOKOGAWA Differential Pressure Transmitter EJA110EDifferential Pressure Transmitter-The EJA-E series of transmitters is Yokogawa’s most recent evolution of the DPharp family of pressure transmitters. Released in 2012, it combines the ruggedness and success of the work-horse EJA-A series with the performance of the thoroughbred EJX-A series to deliver the type of product you have come to expect from Yokogawa.
OVERVIEW:-
♦ Digital Performance-The performance and stability of Yokogawa’s DPharp digital sensor are twice as high as those of the rivals’ analog sensors. The DPharp makes advantage of cutting-edge manufacturing and design techniques for IC chips. Analog sensors are built using outdated design principles. Despite their superior performance, current DPharp sensors outperform analog ones. Your required measurements will be provided via a Yokogawa transmitter with a DPharp digital sensor.
♦ Accuracy Under All Operating Conditions-
The DPharp sensor from Yokogawa has the capacity to measure the sensor temperature, static pressure, and differential pressure all from a single sensor. Yokogawa’s transmitter can instantly correct the DP measurement for the Temperature Effect and Static Pressure Effect given these three pieces of process data. This raises the accuracy of the DP measurement and is known as dynamic compensation.Analog sensors from competitors can only measure the temperatures of the DP and Sensor. So, theirs can account for the effects of temperature, but because the SP measurement is absent, it cannot account for the effects of static pressure.
♦ Stability Under All Operating Conditions-
Digital DPharp sensor provides stable measurement in all operation conditions.To some degree, all pressure sensors on the market provide stable measurement with variations in temperature and static pressure. But what happens when the sensor is over-pressured (pressure > sensor Upper Range Limit (URL)) – like occurs when a manifold is incorrectly sequenced during start-up or shutdown? Or a process upset? Analog sensors are actually damaged during these events requiring the transmitter to be recalibrated to return to accurate operation or even replaced. Yokogawa’s transmitters can withstand large overpressure events. (*See the table below.) Once it returns to normal operating pressure (pressure < URL of the sensor), the transmitter will return to operation within the defined accuracy and stability specifications – no need to recalibrate. Basically, the Yokogawa DPharp sensor has a larger operational envelope compared to an analog sensor.

Gefran melt sensors are pressure/temperature transducers and transmitters for use in high-temperature environments, able to monitor melt pressure up to 538°c. Based on two main constructive principles, with internal fluid (extensimetric) and fluid free (piezoresistive), they are available in 4 different versions: rigid rod, flexible sheathing, flexible plus thermocouple, and exposed tip. The sensor monitors a full range of pressures: from minimum range of 0-17 bar up to the 0-3000 bar version. Mv/v output signals, 4-20ma, 0-10v, gauge type, can open and atex or factory mutual versions, complete the package of solutions for all architectures and applications used with plastics processing machines. Ce and gost-r approval and high immunity to noise; for better adaptation to problems of electromagnetic disturbance in the field, working temperatures up to 538º c, are the main technical characteristics of gefran melt sensors

filled pressure sensor: extensimetric technology melt pressure transducers and transmitters 02 by analyzing the construction of a filled sensor, it is evident that the structure is designed to transfer media pressure to the transduction part and keep it as far as possible from heat source. The m/w/k/mj series are in the filled sensor family. The hydraulic circuit is composed of a tip with 0. 1 mm internal diameter, at the end of which the contact diaphragm and extensimetric diaphragm are welded. Inside the sensor, a filling fluid with low compression coe f ficient trans fers the pressure . This fluid may be mercury, fda-approved oil, or nak. In all cases, fluid quantity depends on sensor design: the rigid rod contains 30 mm3; flex versions contain 40 mm3. Diaphragm geometries are designed on the basis of the volumes and pressures that come into contact during measurement; the pressure that the media exerts on the contact diaphragm must create a precise deformation of the measurement diaphragm. The measurement element, called extensimeter, is glued to the measurement diaphragm, and converts the physical pressure quantity into an electrical signal. An extensimeter consists of a thin metal wire that is bent and inserted in a flexible insulating material according to a specific geometry. The metal wire (measurement element) is an extra-thin leaf of a metal alloy formed by means of chemical engraving. This special engraving process produces metal grills with specific geometries that have maximum ability to modify their characteristics as they change shape.
